The Exchange, Sturminster Newton (guesting with the Barrelhouse Blues Band)

The Exchange, Old Market Hill, Sturminster Newton, Dorset

I'm delighted to be guesting with The Barrelhouse Blues Band for this special concert at The Exchange, where I'll be playing one of my tracks with the full band as well as a couple of Peter Green numbers as part of a special tribute to Barrelhouse founder member (and Greeny fan!) Paul Hart.

“The Barrelhouse Blues Band is back at the Exchange with some familiar faces and some you may not know. 2018 marks 10 years since Paul Hart, who started the Barrelhouse Orchestra back in 2003 died, so we are remembering him and the musical impact he had on the town. Since his passing a group of us has kept his passion alive with a changing line-up of highly regarded musicians. As Paul did, we’ve always tried to keep local musicians who knew and worked with him involved in the band and like him, we are keen to ring the changes to ensure a varied and exciting evening and to give you something a bit different each time. Some of the stars that Paul introduced to us in the Barrelhouse big band blues events range from Howey Casey (Paul McCartney, Wings), Bernie Marsden (Whitesnake), Mick Taylor (Rolling Stones), Andy Sheppard, Pete Brown (Cream songwriter), John Etheridge and Johnny Mars to name just a few. One of the strengths of the Barrelhouse are the names you’ve never heard of before who turn out to be amazing performers such as Jon Kenzie who appeared at the last Barrelhouse gig in 2016. Be prepared for some new faces who will turn out to be aces! A great mixture of rock & roll, rockabilly and blues from Chuck Berry to Peter Green and Imelda May.”
